CLASSES FOR NEW STUDENTS

Sundays, starting JUNE 21, from 6-7 p.m. (No class July 4th weekend)
Now is the perfect time to take a tai chi class. You've been inspired by the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony you know tai chi would be a fun and interesting thing to try, and good for your health. Here's your chance! Improve your balance, alignment, and relaxation while learning this intriguing art.

Classes start Sunday, June 21 at 6 pm and run for one hour. Sign up for all ten classes for SPECIAL LOWER PRICE OF ONLY $99. SPECIAL! FREE CLASS "Tai Chi For Sports" Sunday June 14th, 6–7pm.

Great River is conveniently located at 1940 Hennepin Avenue South (at Franklin), above Burch's Pharmacy, just south of downtown Minneapolis, and off the Hennepin exit of I-94. We are easy to get to by car, foot, bike, and bus! See directions in the sidebar. Register at first night of class. 1940 Hennepin Av. S. Minneapolis, 2F. All ages welcome.

CONTINUING, INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED STUDENTS
Intermediate, Level One:
Thursdays, 6-7 p.m. Ongoing.
No class May 24th.
Intermediate Level Two:
Sundays, 7–8 p.m. Ongoing.
Refine basic principles of complete 37-posture Yang-style short form of Professor Cheng Man-ch'ing, learn supplemental exercises and qigong, explore Chinese philosophical principles, explore application of t'ai chi to daily life.

Advanced:
Thursdays, 7-8 p.m. Ongoing
The two-person Push Hands form and sword form are the focus of this class. Open by permission of instructor.

Intermediate-Advanced Tuition: $22 per evening or flat fee of $84 per month that allows you to attend all classes applicable to your level.

Great River T'ai Chi Ch'uan
Location:
Our studio is conveniently located at 1940 Hennepin Avenue South (at Franklin) in Minneapolis, above Burch's Pharmacy, just off I-94 (Hennepin Exit). We are just a few blocks south of the Walker Art Center and Loring Park, and a minute from the Wedge Food Coop on Lyndale (we're in the Kenwood, Wedge, Loring Park, Lowry Hill, and south Minneapolis neighborhoods).
Great River classes are held at our studio, unless otherwise indicated. Our main studio is not handicap accessible, but we often offer accessible classes at other locations. Please contact us for information.
Great River instructors are available for workshops ; just give us a ring.
Parking: Available on Colfax Avenue South.
Bus: We are on or near bus routes 2, 4, 6, 12, 17, 25, and 113, 114, 115 (U expresses). Rail: Hiawatha Line LRT to Franklin Station, transfer to westbound #2 bus to Hennepin, or, light-rail to end of line (Warehouse District) then take southbound 4, 6, 12, or 25 on Hennepin to Franklin (about two miles). Great River T'ai Chi Ch'uan, founded in 1979 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is one of the Midwest's oldest T'ai Chi groups. Classes in Professor Cheng Man-ch'ing's Yang-style short form are taught by Barbara Davis and Cheryl Powers, who between them have over fifty years of teaching experience.
